Walt Disney decidió entonces enrolarse en la Cruz Roja que lo envió a Francia a conducir ambulancias.Su ambulancia estaba, se dice, cubierta de dibujos.Con el fin de la guerra, Walt Disney se instaló en Kansas City (Missouri,sur) y se empleó como dibujante para una firma fabricante de transparencias para proyecciones de cine, siempre ensayando, en sus momentos libres, dibujos animados.
