Minnie is about to pour her bacon grease over Pluto’s dinner bowl as a treat, but a radio announcement reminds them that the glycerine which can be extracted from cooking fats is important to production of war munitions. Pluto decides that he would rather his treat be used to help Mickey and the other troops at the front, and he helps to collect grease to deliver to the local collection station – getting a better treat as compensation after all. The only film in which Mickey Mouse is shown in uniform, he is seen in a photo on the wall as a soldier.

Hiding them from Mickey, Pluto takes the blame for their antics, and gets thrown out of the house for breaking the rules. In the end, Mickey discovers the kittens and all is well.

Mickey Mouse lies in his comfy bed like a lord, getting served breakfast by Pluto. Next duty for Pluto is to fetch the paper.. Mickey gives Pluto a coin for the vending machine,but Pluto loses it dropping down a drain. After too many failed attempts,Pluto decides to use his tail to get a piece of gum out of gumball machine and sticks it to his tail to to fish the penny. He finally catches it and buys the paper, but this time the wind will cause him trouble……
