Flickr – “Grand Floridian marble floor, Pluto”
I must admit, I wasn’t 100% keen on the idea of adding characters like the Fab 5 to Grand Floridian’s marble floors, the idea that it degenerates the quality to impress the tots only. However, after completion, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this was a job well done. Rather subtle and blended well with the rest of the floor, in its aged gold/dark turquoise hues.
Oh, and the fact they added Pluto as the CENTRAL character of the mosaic when one first enters the GF from the monorail platform… absolutely delightful for this Pluto fan. 😀

What a cutie pie! January 1984 is such a good look for such a pup. ;P
This photo was taken at the Swan Boats loading dock (which closed 5 months beforehand!). If only I could figure out in WHAT direction this was taken at, noting the red/yellow flags as well as a mysterious white/faded baby blue structure in the distance – See the square shaped object in the terrace roof to the left?
It does not appear to match up to the first pic. For one thing, the angles are off. The Pluto pic appears to be taken at the entrance, with a path leading to it as well as people lounging around inside. Also note the roof end implicating it’s on the right side. But the latter pic shows the object (perhaps it’s a drinking water station?) on the left side. Maybe it was moved? Maybe it was something else different? Why does it even matter anyway? I can’t say for sure but… it is interesting. Well, for me. Hahaha.
