So. Spooky Series 2, a continuation of the first Spooky Series Vinylmation from last year, is set for release this Fall. It features vampire Goofy with a neck extension and Pluto as a cuddly werewolf.
The second I first saw the Pluto, it was a clear desire of OMG WANT. But now that I zoomed in for a closer look, I discovered it is the Furry Friends Pluto redesigned with Halloween elements… I’m not sure if I should be grateful or disappointed.
On one hand, I’m extremely grateful that the basic FF Pluto design was reused and not completely forgotten in some sealed portfolio. I guess it’d be one step closer in owning the best Pluto vinyl ever. Plus I love the little touches like the pointy fangs, cloudy skies and moon on the ears. Even the pants – I find it hilarious they’d give Pluto pants in the first place.
On the other, I’m disappointed that they reused the FF Pluto design. Evidently they (Disney Store) acknowledge the Furry Friends fiasco subtly by this recycling. It’s so convenient how the two are similar… Awhile back, they randomly posted a FF Percy & Meeko on their FB page. A incident in Tennessee of recalled FF trays were sold on eBay but Disney Store officials never made a public response about it. And a recent Disney Geek video included a shelf of FFs. My point: They never made an OFFICIAL announcement if FF is coming back or not, they keep ignoring people’s request about the series, yet they keep tempting those who didn’t get a chance at that set with these reappearances in the media. I don’t know what gives. It’s like the reappearance of Dreamfinder at EPCOT, but only in merchandise for the past 6-7 years – they’re holding out the bone high enough for fans to snap at within a certain distance but never able to actually snag it. I’m sure Gerald and Enrique collaborated on this set, Mendez with Goofy and Pita reusing his Pluto design here. I wonder what their thoughts are on about the recall…

Anyway, I’ll be buying a set. IF this set is reduced in price like with the first Spooky Series to $7.99, then I’ll buy 20… Nah. Maybe just 10. Haha.

Flickr – “Hiya Pluto!”
For those who visited the Magic Kingdom around 2006/2007, one may have remember a daily parade entitled Family Fun Day Parade. Part of the entertainment for the Year of a Million Dreams, FFDP was a parade with the basis of encouraging those who ever wanted to be in a parade join in on the ‘fun’.
By ‘fun’ (I participated once), it meant to twirl the American flag consistently and brightly, to glide safely and smoothly down MSUSA and to give your best robotic smile at all times. Well, I may have exaggerated at the last part but it was pretty much a static experience. IIRC, my mom, who also wanted to join in, pretty much emphasized “FU” by dancing however she felt like it down MSUSA. Yes I did LOL’d. I’m sure there’s video of the incident on YT. Maybe not…

Ever the leader of everything fun, the one and only Pluto Pup waves and blows a guest a kiss as he leads the cavalcade in Main Street, patriotic sash billowing in the breeze and a polished silver-topped baton to carry and twirl in his paws (somehow).

I saw this long before but I feel like ruining someone else’s childhood tonight.
Screenshots from the 1999 Mickey Mouse Works short “Pluto’s Penthouse Sweet” depicts what appears to be a persistent female shih tzu who vies for Pluto’s everlasting love. Call it being overly attached.
Now as a young adult, or if you’re already an adult, take a look at the first four screenshots. Please, please tell me there’s more to this than what it seems. Because as far as I’m concern, the Internet has ruined me enough to see that horny bitch has landed right on his midsection.
Yes, you know exactly what I mean. And what could Pluto be thinking of at the fourth screenshot? Perhaps she overstimulated herself already and it trickles down his legs…?
As for the fifth screenshot, I can’t help but laugh at the smear. Give a literal meaning to “eyes the size of dinner plates”. Or in this case, more like enlarged white rice grains.
