Almost nine years in space, with most of that time spent in hibernation,
the New Horizons spacecraft woke for its historic flyby of Pluto and Charon
at around Noon Pacific time today!

Congratz! You survived traveling 2 Astronomical Units (or 185,911,615
miles) into space. Send some pics back when you got a chance. :D?

please please the middle ages are over…use kilometer not mile…
nobody on the internet knows how these miles work… and please use
1000 million, not bilion… billion has a different meaning in many
    languages…?

  • Michael Jones Says:

Most interesting but don’t hangup phone till you have given the signal that
you have completed your message then the other end gives you a menu and
select how you want it delivered followed by your message has been
delivered and follows again with another menu option and a hangup selection.
I was referring to the image on the table top you have of the Milky Way and
I felt it not such a important feature to deny my usage of it as a image on
my card. What’s you insight, does NASA frown on that Debit Credit Union
    card Print usage or not.?

This as a waste of time and didn’t meet expectations. I was expecting to
see pluto’s surface and this ended up just a geeky talk show.?

  • Michael Jones Says:

Someone smarter needs to work for The Planetary Society else have Skype
Representative running communications if that is all you want to do. I see
The Planetary Society is using the image I wanted on my Credit Union card
and the National Credit Union refused to allow me to have that one printed
for my Credit Union card. No copyright symbol existed on the original
downloaded from NASA and they claimed it was copyrighted and refused to
    allow it.?

  • ViperEye Says:

Thanks for the stream, saw the signal coming in via DSN. Although i thought
most understood that it was about NH awakening, not sending pictures…
That was quite clear from the getgo.?
