Adam muratagic, get your facts straight. Ceres was a planet that long ago
collided with the early earth, earth being a smaller planet at the time,
barely bigger than Ceres. When they collided, Ceres struck off many small
dust-(really big astronomically sized) like asteroids, producing rings,
like that of saturn. Some bits were attracted away, and for awhile became
another moon for earth, but now orbits at too far of a distance, and passes
earth too scarcely to be an actual moon. The ancient collision with Ceres,
happening early in the formation of earth, caused a doubling of gravity,
which attracted many asteroids (and comets filled with ice) which led to
heating up and earth drifting into its proper orbit, which attracted only
really comets, forming the ocean, and allowing the conditions for life,
mayhaps on an asteroid from a distant planet (like Spore? Yes!) and one of
the results of this process is typing this.?
