Printed in 1987, this how-to book details how to knit your favorite Disney characters onto those itchy sweaters your grandmothers/aunts may have given you for Christmastime every year. Interestingly, as depicted in the above photo, Disney allowed fur and other costumed characters to pose for the ‘results’ pics.
In all honesty, while I think the Pluto design is adorable, not to mention the difficulty in knitting the body shape and lines to perfection, I feel this sweatshirt is indeed a bit awkward. Perhaps it’s due to the lankiness of the canine shape and bulk of the material.
However, if I had the opportunity to stand next to that wonderfully fuzzy 80s Pluto, I wouldn’t be rolling my eyes like the douchebag model they hired for this shot.
On the contrary, I would like to see Pluto wear the sweater… wait, that didn’t go well in the past. Um… Perhaps a collage of posing for the sweater while other pics depicting myself and Pluto horsing around? Hahaha.
