You’ve got the right lyrics, just the wrong song.
    Try Pluto, Ram Goat? Liver.

  • blakbeltjonez Says:

“whatcha know” in the lyrics really should be “watch ya now”….. means roughly “see here” or “look here, man”…… or in a different context, can also mean that some one’s getting a little bit out of order.

i always thought the beginning lyrics were “Sunday gone i jump ‘pon a minibus…i really late but is not my fault” – a classic Jamaican scenario of having an excuse at the ready for an apparent total disregard of time, not being “nearly late”…. nearly late? would be doing well.

  • blakbeltjonez Says:

“herrings” is a literal way many Jamaicans would say “ear rings”….. never in all of recorded history have there been a people so prone to removing h’s from words and then plastering them where they don’t belong!… usually in front of a word starting with a vowel (bwai, you “hignorant”!) or wherever an h is supposed to be silent, the hard h will surely be used!…..

and “arnold? fat” is indeed the old timey slang name for pork…..as in Arnold The Pig from Green Acres.

Good sounds – some of the lyrics I’m not convinced of – those herrings are probably? ear rings, and I still haven’t a clue on Arnold Fat

  • jonno52 Says:

Thank you, classic? tune, still have the 45 somewhere. Good to have the words – I always wondered if it was “Arnold Fat” !

  • 123gogary Says:
