I challenge you Bret Iwan to a friendly “Mickey Off”, I’ve been doing Mickey since my Junior year at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL. I started doing the voice back in 07, for a Disney cabaret night. When I did the voice for our morning announcements, the whole school thought it was Wayne Allwine? doing it. After that I kept on doing it more and more trying to perfect it. A few weeks ago I went to Disney World and they all said I need to understudy you. So please contact.

I fully agree. The pro-Bret comments that have been marked as Spam need to be unmarked and given Likes while the anti-Bret comments need to get as many DisLikes as? possible, if only to show Bret that we ARE grateful for him.
If Bret were to read such comments slamming him, I bet he’d be REALLY hurt and offended. I can just see him responding to those criticisms in his Mickey voice, telling the haters off and to stop hating and start loving. 😀

thank you for putting in logic in there. i would like to add that comparing bret to the guys before him is also wrong. jimmy had 30 years doing the voice, wayne had 32 years doing the voice, and walt had 25 years doing the voice, bret only has around 2 years or so doing it. but if you compare bret’s mickey voice to their mickey’s when they started out like him, bret is probably the best one so yeah stop with the negativity towards him….?

Wow. Really, guys? Have a little faith in him, sheesh. He’s still just getting started. Keep in mind that Wayne and Jimmy had? the experience of getting to work with the voice actor they were the successor of when they were starting out as Mickey. Bret unfortunately didn’t get this so he’s doing the best he can with the help of Russi, Tony, and Bill.
Personally, I think he’ll be an awesome Mickey. I think he sounds great so far. He can only get better from here.
Haters to the left.

O_o wow. i’ve always been interested in voice acting, and always wanted to be one, but the look and speaking voice doesn’t match the character for Bret. seeing Mickey’s voice come out of him shocked me. lol bill though sounds like goofy to me in his? normal voice. that was awesome to see.

Aw c’mon when Wayne started he didn’t sound exactly right. In fact,? he kinda sounded like the Mickey we hear right now

As he states once, twice and several times, he didn’t walk in and get hired by a nobody just because he can do falsetto. He? was hired after a process of several auditions. Besides, Russi Taylor(the fabulous voice of the cute lovely Minnie Mouse & wife of the late great Wayne Allwine) probably had a say and she wouldn’t have allowed them to choose a person that she didn’t feel could fill Wayne’s shoes. I believe that Bret is bound for amazing things & is doing things Wayne only dreamed of.

Then shouldn’t? you be standing for the excellence established for Mickey by Walt Disney as opposed to your clearly unqualified friend?!
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
As a Disney Cast Member, its really depressing to see so many people hate? on Bret Iwan. He beat thousands of people for the role of Mickey, and he knows just how big “the shoes” are that Wayne Allwine left for him. I have enormous respect for Bret Iwan and his work. He isnt just a voice actor, he brings life to the boss, the big cheese and head mouse. Thank you, Bret.

No one has even mentioned that Pete Renoudet provided Mickey’s voice even before Wayne Allwine and he’s sitting right there! Disney just doesn’t get it !! I don’t know who casts the voices now that Roy is gone but that dude sounds more like Snow White than the Mickey Mouse I grew up? with! It’s like he’s sitting on a vibrator!! And I’d forgotten HOW MUCH I miss Jack Wagner!! Thank God at least we still have Goofy, Donald, and Minnie!

Not really.?

There are zero spam comments in this video? yet there are many comments flagged as spam. Why do people have to hate?
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
I? think Bret rocks!

It’s? great that all of your comments have been marked spam. People don’t like cynicism.

Have you? seen the Leonard Maltin interviews with them?
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
So far as I know, he started voicing Mickey during “The New Mickey Mouse Club.” His first theatrical time voicing Mickey was of course, “Mickey’s? Christmas Carol.”
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
Yeah, one of the earliest times that I remember Allwine doing the voice of Mickey? was in “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” in 1983. Yet everyone insists that Allwine first voiced Mickey in 1977. Where did Allwine voice Mickey then?

The Camp Grizzly shirt! That’s from the Vacation Hoedown version of the Country? Bear show!
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
And they hate the guy because they can somehow tell that he doesn’t sound exactly? like Wayne Allwine. Apparently that’s a sin.
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
How could you possibly? know what Wayne Allwine would think?
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
THESE GUYS ARE LEGENDS! They’re the? BEST! But I’m sure that Bret will get better as he gets older. Lest we forget, Wayne’s Mickey went through a bit of an evolution too.
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
wait so we hate on him because he gets a lot of hate? if you want to form your own opinion then fine, but just hating on? him because everyone else does is ridiculous…
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
Hurray for Bill? Farmer keeping Goofy alive and well.!!!
April 20th, 2012 at 8:26 am
What a great video and so much fun to watch all of them doing? the voices. Thank you!
