@BlackTemplar587 Alright Lad.. The idea did not come from Warhammer 40k as that was created 20 years after the book was? written.. It is based of its own book and things have adapted from it…

Alright Lads, Starship? Troopers DID NOT came from HALO nor did it came from Starcraft.
the Idea came from Warhammer 40k.
The Bugs being Tyranids.
the Marines being the Imperial Guard.

Mandatory means that they have to read it. Inspired means that Halo would not have Master Chief in Power armor without starship troopers.

They don’t have shields or plasma guns. They might have laser weapons though, since the novel was written a long time ago, don’t expect there to be a whole lot of stuff you see in videogames. However, Starship Troopers inspired Halo, Tiberian Sun and pretty much anything that has power armor. The US Marine Corps even? has it as mandatory reading for officers.

@TheMostEvilDarkLord hi what sort of other future tech they have like do they have plasma like those big blue explosive you see in movies and cartoons like one small blue object pops out of their launcher and next one big blue wall of fire all around like or something? like those from tiberium sun portable ion cannons and personnal regenerative armour or personal shieldings dun mind if i ask as i like to know more ..

It’s not. In the novel, the Mobile Infantry uses power armor. They have? jet packs and they jump from place to place. They don’t need vehicles. The soldiers in Starship Troopers are walking tanks. They have powerful weapons like flamethrowers, nukes, and other future tech. In short, you could consider them the perfect soldiers.

@Toxmonster Bungie says the ODSTs were directly influenced by Starship Troopers, and if you’ve seen the Japanese OVA of Starship troopers by the guy who made Gundam released in the 80s, the helmets are identical to the Halo Combat Evolved helmet. Pretty? wierd that something so iconic can be ripped off, and so few people know about it, right? I love Halo though, so it doesn’t bother me, I see it more as a cool tribute. I made my own Mobile Infantry for Reach. 😛
