Takes me back to when Pluto was still a planet.
It’s okay, little ball of ice, shhh. I still love you.

Nice video! I wonder if Pluto was once a moon of Neptune? I wonder if Neptune’s moon Triton has some sort of history with Pluto? I doubt Triton was formed within Neptune’s gravitational field. It was probably captured from the Kuiper Belt. Maybe Triton collided with Pluto long ago, and knocked Pluto out of orbit, or if Triton and Pluto are both Kuiper Belt Objects (KBO’s)? Either way, they’re so simiar in atmospheric composition, and close in size. IDK, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

@cosmosgato Or a creationist…oh wait, same thing. They are really just pissed that these researchers are not finding god floating on a cloud when they peer into their telescopes

Pluto will always be a planet in my heart!

@cosmosgato Nope, because a Republican, like me, knows that government investing in science is a Constitutional concept… so whoever said they are wasting our money was just lame.

@crazboy21 venus doesnt have any moons. the reason it isn’t a planet is because it cant clear its own orbital path.

I suspect that Pluto was downgraded from planet status because it was discovered by a non-scientist (Clyde Tombaugh)

so is it a planet or what. magic school bus said we have 9 planets and thats what im sticking to
April 22nd, 2011 at 1:58 am
Actually it’s no longer a debate, pluto is a planet techinally, just not labeled as it would be if it was in our solar system thus the term dwarf planet.
April 22nd, 2011 at 1:58 am
anyone know what the name or the song is, if it has any name.

The question of whether Pluto is still considered a planet is the subject of ongoing debate. Only four percent of the IAU voted on the controversial demotion, and most are not planetary scientists. Hundreds of professional astronomers led by New Horizons Principal Investigator Dr. Alan Stern signed a formal petition opposing the demotion.

Pluto is a planet because it accreted enough material to be pulled into a round shape by its own gravity, a state known as hydrostatic equilibrium. A celestial body does not have to dominate its orbit to be a planet. Dwarf planets are planets too.

One does not learn much by asking the wrong questions.
The Church of Mainstream Astrophysics asks: “How does gravity alone account for the structures throughout the universe?” Instead of simply: “What could account for the structures throughout the universe?”
NASA & the ESA have tools that are collecting mountains of data – MOST of which contradicts their standard model. But, instead of adjusting the model, they try to hammer the square pegs of data into the round holes of their model.
