Maybe this went over better in an era where the average American craved German and Japanese blood and leaped at the opportunity to pay higher taxes, but in an era of cynicism and weariness towards the government, this just feels corny and trite.

Even if everything wasn’t synthetic and abundant today, saving bacon fat so the government can kill another round of foreigners? Surely, you jest.

This is s-o-o-o-o funny My dad used to save kitchen grease for our dogs it flavored their food and made their coat shiny. Who knew simple bacon grease and meat drippings could be made into explosives I’m from the south and I use both to season my greens and beans which can be pretty explosive after a meal(lol) or I make gravy. All that oil in the pan after Minnie cooked I wondered what hers and Pluto’s cholesterol level was.

    Oh lord XD

  • fairyfucktard Says:

    yeah at 3:04 there’s re-used animation

  • PatrickRsGhost Says:

This was common in a lot of the patriotic cartoons of the time. The Morse Code for the letter “V” (as in “V” For Victory) is three dots and a dash (. . . __). The reason why Beethoven’s 5th is played is because it’s usually written as Symphony No. V. V is the Roman Numeral for 5. At the end of some cartoons, it showed the letter “V” followed by the Morse Code symbol. There was even a Popeye cartoon that had him blow the Morse Code a la Beethoven with his pipe.

  • am9224 Says:

Can you spot some reused animation somewhere?

  • viking515 Says:

of cuorse the ameicans need fat fo their wars

  • KTChamberlain Says:

Yeah I know, I just wanted to point that out to some people just to make a point and express it, in a way. Actually it’s not so much that shot of Mickey that irks me, it’s that Leonard Maltin on the Wartime cartoons DVD collection even bothered to mention Mickey as though he did contribute, that’s all.

  • KryptoCrow Says:

easy there kate, its for entertainment purposes and you seem really pissed off about it. You’re right, Mickey was never in the war but then again he’s a fuckin cartoon so try and enjoy it for what it is

  • andrewparrot21 Says:

    an excellent WWII gem

  • KTChamberlain Says:

that shot of Mickey at 2:05 was probably the biggest load of bullshit disney ever hinted. Mickey never fought in the war; he wasn’t even in any wartime films. (reused footage does not count unless you have new dialogue and you make it work). however he was on insignias for U.S. planes, but Donald contributed more to America during WWII than any other Disney character.

  • DanishCartoonist Says:

Lol Germany! (Beethoven’s 5th is heard as the Axis ship is sunk)

  • mexicanpowerputo Says:

thats cool how the whole nation was pitching in for the war effort
